About Capt Rick:
Hi- I'm Captain Rick Spratt. I'm a native to the Gulf waters of Citrus County, and a member of the Homosassa Guides Association.
I specialize in inshore grouper, speckled trout, Spanish mackerel, redfish, sheepshead, and good times.
I'm an experienced and attentive captain who will be there to assist the novice angler land that first big catch, or for the seasoned angler- I'll get you where you need to be to land a nice shallow water grouper or target the big Redfish. Or, we might even stir up a feisty Snook that are now being landed more often out of Crystal River and Homosassa.
Slow trolling for grouper, drifting the flats for trout, or chumming on a rock pile for pelagic species such as cobia and mackerel are all possible on a given day. I fish from a 24 foot KenCraft Bay Rider powered by a 200 hp Suzuki with plenty of room and power to safely and comfortably fish up to 4 anglers.
I can take you and your guests far off the beaten path and explore wading bird rookeries, offshore springs, and uninhabited islands. I have a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology and am very knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. Maybe a manatee, dolphin, or birding trip could round out the day. Oyster catchers, white pelicans, bald eagles, ospreys, and loons are common sightings.
Simply put, the day is yours to create. I am a true "Captain" in every sense of the word, and I strive to make sure every trip is a memorable experience for my guests.
Thanks, and I look forward to fishing with you !
Captain Rick Spratt
